Materials & Sustainability |
Our weighted blanket is available in two cover options - one made from soft, 100% GRS-certified recycled polyester and another crafted from breathable cotton produced under the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), a global non-profit organization promoting better standards in cotton farming. Both options feature a recycled polyester fill made from upcycled marine plastic. Each blanket transforms ocean-bound plastic into a soft, luxurious knit for naps or relaxation. The filler-free design ensures evenly distributed weight for a comfortable and restful experience, while the materials emphasize sustainability and breathability. Recycled polyester has become popular for sustainable textiles because it reduces reliance on virgin materials, repurposing plastic waste like PET bottles and ocean-bound plastics. Using recycled polyester in our weighted blankets, we help divert waste from landfills and reduce the need for petroleum-based raw materials. However, while recycled polyester is more sustainable than its virgin counterpart, it s important to note that recycling plastic can still generate microplastics, which may contribute to ocean pollution. Additionally, recycled polyester requires energy to produce and isn't biodegradable, meaning that the environmental footprint of this material, though reduced, isn't eliminated. Despite these challenges, using recycled polyester in products still represents a positive step forward by addressing plastic waste and promoting a more circular economy, making it a responsible choice for those seeking more eco-friendly options.

Washing Your Weighted Blanket |
Machine wash your Weighted Blanket on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Lay flat to dry to avoid stretching out the blankets lovely, natural loops. Do not hang dry or tumble dry.
|
Storing Your Blanket |
Each weighted blanket comes with a natural cotton storage bag, making it easy to store or travel with when not in use. This helps protect your blanket and maintain its quality over time.

Certifications |
The Global Recycled Standard ensures that products are made from recycled materials and meet strict environmental and social criteria throughout the supply chain. Our Weighted Blanket uses 100% GRS-certified recycled polyester, meaning it has been verified to meet standards for sustainable production, ethical labor practices, and responsible use of resources. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is one of the world s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. This certification guarantees that every component of the product-from the yarns to the threads-has been tested and proven safe for human health. Our Weighted Blanket is certified to ensure that it is free from chemicals that could be harmful to you or the environment, giving you peace of mind as you rest.
|
Breathable Materials |
Our weighted blankets not only support sustainability but also maximize comfort. The soft, eco-friendly fabrics are naturally breathable, helping to regulate body temperature as you sleep. Unlike traditional weighted blankets that trap heat with fillers like glass beads or pellets, our filler-free design provides consistent, cool comfort throughout the night.

Weighted Blanket Benefits |
Everyone loves a hug! Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, or insomnia, the calming pressure of a weighted blanket may help improve sleep quality. Weighted blankets are also commonly used by individuals with sensory processing differences, such as those on the autism spectrum, as well as those managing conditions like restless leg syndrome (RLS) or fibromyalgia. Additionally, anyone looking to relax more deeply, reduce stress, or enhance their overall well-being can enjoy the soothing benefits of a weighted blanket.
|
Can a Weighted Blanket Be Too Heavy? |
A weighted blanket should typically be about 10% of your body weight. Studies suggest it s safe for adults to use a blanket weighing up to 30 lbs. If the blanket feels too heavy at first, try covering only part of your body until you adjust to the weight comfortably.

Recycled Polyester vs. Certified Organic |
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to sustainability and protecting our planet. While our weighted blanket is not made from certified organic materials, it reflects our broader vision of environmental stewardship. Crafted from 100% recycled polyester sourced from ocean-bound plastic, each blanket helps prevent hundreds of plastic bottles from polluting our oceans. We also offer an optional cotton cover produced under the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), which focuses on reducing the environmental impact of cotton farming by minimizing water and pesticide use, improving working conditions for farmers, and ensuring fair wages. Our approach highlights the potential of circular design, showing that sustainability is not just about the materials we choose but how we innovate to address these challenging issues.
