Layer 2: GOTS-certified organic wool (325g), sourced ethically from our farms in the Himalayas and cleaned mechanically without chemicals in our facility in India. Our wool is certified to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), which addresses the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on, and the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® non-toxic certification (19.HIN.68466, Hohenstein HTTI). Layer 3: 2 inches of natural Alpaca fiber ethically sourced from the Netherlands (500g). Layer 4: Another layer of our GOTS-certified organic wool from India. Layer 5: GOTS-certified organic cotton canvas sourced from South Carolina (375g/12oz).

Layer 11: 2 inches of GOLS-certified organic certified, soft Dunlop natural latex (D65/14-19ILD), made with 95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard, with the eco-INSTITUT® label and FSC®, and Rainforest Alliance® certifications. Sourced from India and Guatemala, from our farms and organic certified processing facilities. Layer 12: 8-inch innerspring unit, encased in a food-grade polypropylene fabric (non-woven and non-toxic), with up to 1,379 fabric-encased coils made from recycled steel in 3 wire gauges that move independently and are arranged in 7 ergonomic zones, with a reinforced steel perimeter for edge support. The coils are assembled using a safe and environmentally-conscious adhesive composed of tested components (Waxes: CAS 8002-74-2, Resin: CAS 8050-26-8, Antioxidant: CAS 6683-19-8, EVA Polymer: CAS 24937-78-8). the finished innerspring unit meets OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, EWG Verified®, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and Formaldehyde-Free Claim Verification standards. Layer 13: GOTS-certified organic natural hemp pad (450g) for firm support.

Reinforced handles are 10 inches long and made with GOTS-certified organic cotton, sourced from Canada, made in 2 layers for durability and strength (450g & 334g). No synthetic yarns are used. Tuft rosettes attached to a woven tape made from GOTS-certified organic cotton eliminate the need for glues, as the Luxury Organic Mattress is tufted with steel needles by hand in up to 32 locations, depending on size. Rosettes are made with certified organic wool sourced from the United States. Our closing woven tape is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton (450) sourced from Canada. Recyclable, aluminum, bull-hook staples are used instead of glue to bind the interior perimeter to latex. Our green embroidery thread used for our logo is even STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified as non-toxic. Handles are intended to help you rotate the mattress only. Do not attempt to transport the mattress by using the handles.

No flame retardants of any kind are used. Our Luxury Organic Mattress meets all safety standards by only using GOTS-certified organic wool and densely packed natural fibers. No other chemical treatments, rayon blends, or fiberglass fiber fire socks are used.

PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals used in various industries worldwide. Known for their persistence in the environment and in the human body, they are often referred to as "forever chemicals." At Avocado, we're committed to ensuring our products are free from harmful levels of PFAS. Our mattresses have been rigorously tested using advanced techniques such as Liquid Chromatographic/Tandem Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS) analysis and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis for 241 PFAS substances. This testing method is superior to generic organic fluorine screening tests, which can often be inaccurate and fail to detect specific PFAS compounds. Years 1 - 10: Full coverage, Non-Prorated. Years 11-25: Limited Coverage, Prorated. A great mattress provides comfort and proper support for your back by conforming to your unique body shape. Since people usually sleep in the same area of the mattress every night, the natural and organic comfort layers tend to be compressed in the same areas. In a plush mattress, this may result in a natural body impression, up to 2 inches, which is not to be confused with a sagging or defective mattress. | 1-Year Sleep Trial Policy |
Your 1-Year Avocado Luxury Organic Mattress trial begins after you receive your mattress, and is limited to one mattress per household, after a minimum of 30 days, according to policy terms & conditions. Shipping and in-home delivery & setup fees are non-refundable. Returned mattresses incur a $99 fee. The mattress box must be opened within 30 days of receipt.
